What to Prepare for Scrap Car Pickup Day

A few minutes of preparation makes pickup day fast and stress-free.

Your checklist

Clear out your personal belongings, including the glove box, trunk and under the seats. Keep the keys with you if you have them. Have your ownership document and photo ID ready.

Give the tow truck access

Make sure the truck can reach the car. If it is parked in a tight spot, tell the driver when you book so they can plan for it.

Plates and insurance

Check the local rules about licence plates and cancelling insurance after the sale, so you do not pay for a vehicle you no longer own.
